Song and Brent share spoils at Shoalhaven Superheroes Premiers Cup
Date: 18th May 2018

New Zealand's Hanee Song and New South Welshwoman Adriana Brent were forced to share the spoils today at the Shoalhaven Superheroes Premiers Cup at Nowra Golf Club today.

The pair were tied with West Australia's Breanna Gill after all three players finished with 33 Stableford points playing off the men's blue tees, and could not be separated after a one-hole sudden death playoff which saw Gill relegated to third place after she bogeyed the playoff hole, the par 4 third.

For both players, the win represents their first ALPG Pro-am victory. For Song, it was redemption after losing in a sudden-death playoff to Englishwoman Felicity Johnson at the Brisbane Invitational in March earlier this year.  The 22-year-old will now head to China on Monday with her confidence boosted, where she will be competing in the  Le Coq Sportif Beijing Ladies Classic on the China LPGA Tour.

For Brent, who is in the final year of her PGA Traineeship, today's performance was not at all a surprise as the 27-year-old has been competitive in PGA trainee matches in recent months against her male counterparts. Brent’s previous best finish on the ALPG Tour was a third-place finish at the 2015 Anita Boon Pro-am in New Zealand, an event which Song finished runner-up in 2017.

In the team event, the Shoalhaven Superheroes Rush Charity Challenge was won by the team led by ALPG Professional Kristalle Blum were victorious.

The City of Shoalhaven Mayor Amanda Findley was onsite to present the trophies to the winners, and acknowledged the tremendous support the event had received from all of the sponsors, including the title sponsor McDonalds Shoalhaven and the other sponsors; Country Motor Company, 949powerfm, South Coast Register, Bomaderry Printing, itsmyclubbomoberry, Kerden Haulage, Volvik Australia, Cutter & Buck Australia, Coca-Cola Amatil, Rams Home Loans, John Hills Signs, First National Coast and Country, Flagstaff Group, Kookaburra Kids,  Nurses onwheels, RHMC Australia, RHM Randwick, RHM Westmead, Golf Australia Magazine Gareth James Ward, NSW Premier's Office, Milton Ulladulla Times Nowra Cranes, ANZ Mobile Lending, Nowra Golf Club,TAFE Illawarra
