Ilhee Lee became the second-consecutive Rolex First-Time Winner of the season at the Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic. Lee shot 5-under-par 42 on the 12-hole layout at Ocean Club Golf Course at Atlantis Resort for a two shot victory over Irene Cho.
Lee’s win ended a wild week on the LPGA where severe weather dumped more than a foot of rain on the tournament course on Tuesday. Recovery efforts by golf course staff from Wednesday through Saturday morning resulted in 45 million gallons of rain water being pumped off the tournament course.
“I can’t believe it right now,” said Lee, who finished the week at 11-under-par 126. “It feels amazing. This is the best day in my life. I'm so happy right now.”
Leading the Australian charge is Lindsey Wright who carded a final round of 3 over to finish T13.
Off the other Australians, Katherine Hull-Kirk finished T42 and Julia Boland T61.
