After a chip-in birdie on the final hole of today's third round of the Worrell’s Women’s NSW Open, Belgian Manon De Roey sits on the verge of breaking through for her first major professional title in her fifth season on tour.

De Roey has played near textbook golf all week over the demanding and tight Dubbo Golf Club layout, shooting rounds of 71, 64 and 66 to sit at 15-under par and will take a 5-shot lead into tomorrow's final round. The 28-year-old already has three wins to her credit on the LET's developmental tour, the LET Access Series, and there is no doubt that having those wins under her belt will be a major asset when the pressure heats up tomorrow afternoon.

The Belgian's 64 yesterday remains the best round of the week so far and De Roey was delighted to have backed up that effort toady. “I think it was about 8 out of 10,” she said when asked to assess her day three play.

“I was in the trees a lot today and had to chip out a few times but I managed to get up and down a lot so I was happy with that.”

Swedish youngster Julia Engstrom is also searching for her maiden Ladies European Tour title, and all day looked like the player most likley to challenge De Roey, at one point getting to within one shot of the Belgian.
However back to back bogies at her final two holes saw the Swede signing for a 4-under par 68 and a three round total of 10-under par leaving her five shots to make up over the final 18-holes.

Another Swede, Camilla Lennarth, sits alone in third place at 9-under par after shooting a third round 70, while Slovenia’s Katja Pogacar and Indian Diksha Dagar are tied for fourth place after shooting rounds of 68 and 71 respectively.

Slovenian Teen sensation Pia Babnik equalled De Roey's 66 to vault into a tie for 6th place alonside another teen, Thailand's Atthaya Thitikul who is already a two-time winner on the Ladies European Tour.

The leading Australian heading into tomorrow's final round is Sydneysider Soo Jin Lee who sits at 4-under par in a tie for 10th placee, while leading amateur Grace Kim is a shot further back at -3.

The final round will get underway at Dubbo Golf Club on Sunday morning from 8:00am, with the leaders teeing off at 9:50 am.  Entry is free and spectators are most welcome.
