Australia's highest ranked played Minjee Lee will take a 1 shot lead into tomorrow's final round of the 2018 Oates Vic Open,  and will have to hold out two of Australia's rising stars if she is to claim her second Oates Vic Open title.

Lee shot a third round 75 in the windy afternoon conditions, her day starting poorly after her opening drive round the fairway bunker at the par 4 first hole. Another bogey at the fourth hole was quickly negated with a birdie at the par 5 5th hole, but the 21-year-old stumbled again with a bogey at the tricky par 3 7th hole.
A birdie at the 15th hole followed up by a bogey on the 16th hole and two pars to finish ensured that the Western Australian would retain her lead heading into tomorrow's final round.

Lurking just one shot back is Scottish born Queenslander Karis Davidson, who handled the difficult conditions with ease shooting the best score of the day a 6 under par round of 66. The 19-year-old, who recently secured her card for the lucrative LPGA of Japan Tour in 2018 is playing in her first major tournament as a professional this week and her impressive play this week bodes well for her future.

Two shots further back is another Aussie, West Australian Hannah Green who is one of five players in the field who played in the PURE SILK-BAHAMAS LPGA CLASSIC  last week and did not arrive at 13th Beach until Wednesday. Green played in her first LPGA tournament last week as a member and performed creditably finishing in 11th place.

American Cheyenne Woods made one of the moves of the day shooting a four-under-par 69 and is still in contention tied for 5th place at 2 under par.

After 54 holes a second cut was made to 35 players and ties with the cut falling at +3.

Third round scores and final round tee-times

Play will get underway at 7:45am Sunday 4th February at 13th Beach Links at Barwon Heads.
