Twelve ALPG professionals will be competing as part of the 108 strong field at the 2016 Dalat @ 1200 Ladies Championship beginning tomorrow at the prestigious Dalat @1200 Country Club in Dalat, Vietnam.
Ten ALPG members, Rebecca Artis, Grace Lennon, Katelyn Must, Jessica Speechley, Tamara Johns, Liv Cheng, Ana Stanton, Nadien Smith, Danielle Montgomery and Jenny Lee, along with 2016 ALPG International Members Miriam Nagl from Brazil and Jamila Jaxaliyeva from Kazakhstan will all be competing for the AUD$570,000 prizemoney on offer this week. The field of 108 players comprises sixty players from KLPGA, fifteen from Thailand Women’s Professional Golf, a number of local Vietnamese players and other sponsor invitations from across Asia.
Executive Director Karen Lunn said that the tournament is a landmark occasion for the ALPG as it is the first time that our members have been invited to a KLPGA sanctioned event. “We are delighted to have been invited by the promoter Quad Sports and the KLPGA to send some of our members to compete in this prestigious event in Dalat. For many of our members this will be their first opportunity to compete in a KLPGA tournament and certainly the first opportunity to play a professional tournament in Vietnam. We all know the quality of the South Korean players and this is a fantastic opportunity for our players to compete against quality oppostion in a tournament which attracts Rolex Rankings points. So far the players have really enjoyed the week and are looking forward to the tournament which starts tomorrow on the picturesque and demanding Dalat @1200 Country Club layout”
After 36 holes of the tournament there will be a cut to the leading 60 professional players and ties, who will contest the final round on Easter Sunday.
