The 2016 ALPG Tour gets underway tomorrow when 70 players from 17 different nationalities will tee it up at the 2016 Moss Vale ALPG Pro-am, which will also be the opening event of the 2016 ALPG Club Car Series
It is only fitting that the longest running ALPG Pro-am will kick off the 2016 season, and a quality field is assembled including defending champion Sarah Oh who won here in is such style a year ago.
The field also includes a strong field of local stars including 8 time US LPGA tournament winner Rachel Hetherington, 2012 French and Spanish Open winner Stacey Keating and US Tour star Sarah Kemp, while former Australian representatives Hayley Bettencourt and Amy Walsh both make their professional debuts. Their is also a strong international feel to the event, with a strong representation of foreign tour players including 2015 Bing Lee Fujitsu NSW Open runner up Ladies European Tour player Christine Wolf.
Many of the players playing this week will be hoping to get their season off to a fast start as all of the Club Car Series events in January also act as qualifying events for the 2016 ALPG Tour major tournaments, including the Oates Victorian Open, ISPS Handa New Zealand Women’s Open, The ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open and the RACV Ladies Masters.
