The pro-am will be played over two days at the picturesque North Shore Golf Club, and has prizemoney of NZ$40,000.
The star studded field assembled is the strongest in the short history of the event, including LPGA players Sarah Kemp and Stacey Keating, Kiwi stars Cathryn Bristow and Liv Cheng along with defending champion Cherie Alison.
This will be the 3rd straight year that the ALPG has co-sanctioned the event with the NZPWG, the governing body for Professional Womens Golf in NZ.
The pro-am, which was established in 2009 is in memory of one of the stars of NZ women's golf Anita Boon who sadly passed away from ovarian cancer.
NZPWG spokesperson, former tour player Liz McKinnon said “Anita continues to inspire us to improve this tournament and we are blessed to have the continued support from Restaurant Brands (KFC) along with Coca-Cola Amatil NZ who share our passion for this event.”
ALPG Executive Director Karen Lunn said her organisation is fully supportive of the event. "The ALPG is delighted once again to be involved as a sanctioning partner for the 2015 Anita Boon Pro-am. While I didnt have the pleasuer of meeting Anita, I know how much of an impact her loss had on the golfin g community in New Zealand and it is a fitting tribute that the NZPWG have named this event in her honour"
"We thank the major sponsors Coca-Cola and KFC for their ongoing support of this event, to have major brands such as these supporting women's golf is a huge bonus for everyone involved"
World number 1 New Zealand star Lydia Ko sent NZPWG a message of support to all involved apologising that she could not be there in person and wishing everyone luck.
The tournament will raise funds for NZ Gynaecological Cancer Foundation, which was Boon's chosen charity.
